For this series, I designed the 1920s Mary Brooks Dress pattern. It has the popular dropped waist silhouette and, in keeping with the geometric Art Deco style, it features a pleated bodice that is set into a front panel and waistband at right angles. The short knee length skirting has pleats
in the front that mirror the bodice pleats and is lightly gathered around the sides and the back to to soften the angles. The seamlines around the front panel and waistband are outlined with a ribbon trim and the panel itself can be embellished with embroidery. The pattern includes two 1920s era embroidery patterns that have been adapted to suit a smaller scale.
