1920s Fashion Embroidery Part 2
9m 31s
In this video, we are going to start in on the 1920s Mary Brooks dress with a little 1920s style embroidery. The dress pattern includes two 1920s embroidery designs that have been scaled and reworked specifically for the Mary Brooks dress. In this demonstration we will be using the floral design.
For the embroidery project in this tutorial you will need:
22”x 10” piece of similar fabric for the contrast pieces (be sure the
contrast fabric is in one solid piece to make it easier to embroider)
Green embroidery floss for the stems and leaves
Dark blue and light blue embroidery floss for the flowers
Light yellow embroidery floss for the flower centers
Design transfer materials such as transfer paper and a transfer pencil OR a fabric marker
18” x 8” piece of lightweight fusible interfacing
Small embroidery hoop, Embroidery needle, Embroidery scissors
If you are new to embroidery or just need a little refresher, be sure to
watch the separate hand embroidery video that we are including with this series. In the video, Cinnamon will go overs different ways to transferring the embroidery designs to your fabric and demonstrate all the stitches that I used for the project in my video.
